Brasil teve cinco atletas nos pódios amadores, sendo três campeões mundiais
No Ironman Hawaii, realizado nos dias 6 e 8 de Outubro, o Brasil obteve bons resultados na categoria amadora, inclusive com três campeões mundiais: Julia Iglesias (18/24), Ana Augusta Soares (35/39) e José Belarmino (45/49), além dos pódios com Roberto Fonseca (45/49) e Roberto Sena (70/74).
